Some of the photography on our website is real, and some has been created using AI. We’ve chosen to use AI-generated imagery thoughtfully, alongside our own photography, to help show the feeling and reality of mobile massage when suitable stock images simply don’t exist.
Relax & Be has been around since 2014.
Our first proper photoshoot happened through an exchange for massage. For the next one, we paid a photographer, found a location and persuaded friends to be our models. We were also lucky enough to be offered a video shoot.
We loved doing all of those things, but after about six years we’d pretty much run out of photographs we could use.
The thing with running a brand is that one photoshoot isn’t really enough forever. Photography dates, websites change, people move on, and every few years everything needs refreshing.
For a while, the Relax & Be website became almost photo-free. We tried colour gradients, graphics and carefully chosen stock photography instead. It looked polished enough, but it never really showed what we actually do. Good stock photography of massage in people’s homes is surprisingly difficult to find.
So, while rebuilding the website in 2026, we decided to experiment with AI-generated photography.
Our feelings about AI are mixed. We’ve tried to use it thoughtfully: to create images that represent the atmosphere, people, homes and practical reality of mobile massage, rather than pretending that the people pictured are our actual therapists or clients.
The people shown in our AI-generated images are not intended to depict real individuals. However, generative AI can sometimes create a face that happens to resemble a real person without us knowing. If you ever see an image on our website that looks unusually like you or someone you know, please contact us. We will happily review it and remove or replace it where appropriate.
We’ll continue using real photography too, and hope to arrange more genuine Relax & Be shoots as the business grows. For now, using a mixture of real and AI-generated imagery has allowed us to finally make the website feel like Relax & Be again.
